Izzy Shag Collection. 2022

The Izzy Shag Collection, is handwoven in cream colored natural un bleached cotton, created in collaboration with artisans in central Oaxaca. We developed this gorgeous and playful shag texture with artisans in central Oaxaca, with the idea of expanding it into homewares, clothing and accessories (as we love to do!). The shag texture in Mexico was a popular look made into handwoven rugs in the 1960’s though typically made with wool, I imagined a cotton variation would be a more practical and useful material, being that it would be available year round and would not have the itchiness associated with wool.
