Maza Collection

2024

Maza is a mini collection of one of a kind clothing pieces, made with natural dyes and silk. The name is a play on the Spanish word “masa” which translates to “dough”, specifically the corn based dough made to create tortillas and tamales.

This collection incorporated traditional natural dye extraction techniques from Oaxaca used for hundreds of years, primarily the pomegranate, a golden yellow color base, which reminded me of masa.

If you’re interested to see how this unique collection was produced,

please take a few minuites to watch and like this video which documents

the complex and labor intensive process on how a collection is made, from start to finish.
